The Ute tribe's origin story is about there people were brought here from the south in a magic sack carried by -Sinauf . The Legends of Sinauf is the bias of their religion. Medicine men were the religious leaders because there power of healing was a really big deal of the Ute tribe. They think that they were given these powers by a natural force to heal other band members. One of the events for the UTEs is the Bear Dance . This was a gathering done every year around spring. Some of the biggest part of their culture was their art and their horses. They would make religious and ceremonial beadwork and leatherwork and they would put in horses into their paintings. Some of the foods they would eat was seeds, berries, and roots, and the hunted deer, rabbits, birds, and fish. Some of the food they raised was corn, beans, pumpkins, squash, and potatoes.
